Follow these easy steps, one at a time. You can come back here any time.
🚪 Getting Started
1
Sign in
Type your email in the first box.
Type your password in the second box.
Press the big green “Sign In” button.
2
Forgot your password?
On the Sign In page, press “Forgot your password?”
Type your email and press “Next.”
Answer your security question. Big or small letters do not matter.
Type a new password two times and press “Save New Password.”
Press “Start Playing.” That’s it — no email needed!
3
Find your way around
Look at the top of the screen. You will see buttons called tabs.
“How to Use” is this page.
“Play” is where you play a game of bridge.
“Practice” is where you practice bidding with a coach.
“Learn Conventions” teaches you Gerber, Blackwood, Stayman, and more.
On a phone or small tablet, press the button with three lines (☰) to see the tabs.
4
Make the words bigger
Look for the words “Text size:” at the top, next to the “A”, “A+” and “A++” buttons. On a phone, press ☰ to find them.
Press “A+” for bigger words, or “A++” for the biggest words.
Press “A” to go back to normal. The app remembers your choice.
🃏 Playing a Hand
5
Deal the cards
Press the “Play” tab.
Press the big green “Deal the Cards” button.
You sit at the bottom of the table. You are South.
North, at the top, is your partner. East and West are the other team.
6
Look at your cards
Your 13 cards are at the bottom of the screen, face up.
Next to your name you will see “HCP.” That means High Card Points.
An Ace is 4 points, a King is 3, a Queen is 2, and a Jack is 1. The app adds them up for you.
7
Bid
When it is your turn, a box called “Choose Your Bid” shows up in the middle.
Press the bid you want, like 1♥ or 1NT.
Or press “Pass” if you do not want to bid.
The other players bid by themselves. You can see every bid in the list.
To see what your partner bid, look for the blue “Partner bid” bubble above North. The blue box in the Bidding list shows all of your partner’s bids.
After bidding ends, the Bidding list stays on the side so you can look back at it while you play.
When bidding ends, the green bar at the top shows the contract.
8
Play your cards
Every hand has a name tag: Your Hand (South) at the bottom, Partner (North) at the top, and West and East on the sides.
When it is your turn, a big green bar above the table says “Your turn!” and you hear a soft ding-dong. Your name tag also says 👉 YOUR TURN.
When someone else is playing, a yellow bar says who is thinking.
Coach’s Turn Tips: when it is your turn, your coach tells you out loud which card to play and why. A blue “Your Coach says” box shows the same words, and the suggested card has a ⭐ Coach tag. Your coach does this for bids too.
Want to try on your own? Press “Turn Off Tips”, or use the “Coach’s Turn Tips” box on the side to turn them back on.
The “Last play” box tells you who just played and what card. That card also has an orange “JUST PLAYED” tag in the middle of the table.
Tap a card to play it. Cards you are allowed to play stand out; the others are faded.
You must follow suit. If someone plays a heart, you play a heart if you have one.
The highest card wins the trick. A trump card beats all the other suits.
If your team wins the contract and North is the dummy, North’s cards turn face up and you play them too.
9
Keep score
The top bar shows how many tricks each team has won.
The “Score” box on the side keeps the score for “We” (you and North) and “They.”
10
Oops! Take it back
Tapped the wrong card or bid? Press the blue “Take Back” button.
Your last move is undone, and it is your turn again.
You can press it more than once to go back further in the same hand.
On a phone, “Take Back” and “Help Me!” are at the bottom of the screen.
11
Slow it down
Find the “Game Speed” box on the side (on a phone, scroll down below the table).
Press “Slow” to give yourself more time to watch each card.
Press “Fast” if you want the other players to move quickly.
12
Your game is saved
If the screen goes dark or you close the page, don’t worry.
Come back and press “Play.” Your hand will be right where you left it.
13
Cheers when you do well
When you make a good bid or win a trick, a happy message pops up.
Do something extra good, like a convention or a winning streak, and confetti falls!
Make your contract, and you get a big party on the screen.
The messages go away by themselves. You can keep playing right away.
Want it quiet? Find the “Cheer Sounds” box on the side and press “Sound Off.”
14
Ask your personal bridge coach out loud
Press the blue “Ask Your Personal Bridge Coach” button with the microphone (on a phone it says “Ask Your Coach”).
The first time, your device asks to use the microphone. Press “Allow.”
When you see “Listening… speak now,” ask your question. Try “What should I bid?”
The coach looks at your cards, then answers out loud. The words show on the screen too.
Press “Say It Again” to hear it one more time, or “Stop Talking” to make it quiet.
No microphone? Type your question in the box and press “Ask.”
In the “Coach Voice” box on the side, you can turn the voice off, or pick “Slow” or “Normal” talking.
Look for “Read It Out Loud” or “Hear It” buttons. They read the help to you.
💡 Getting Help
15
Ask for help any time
Not sure what to do? Press the big yellow “💡 Help Me!” button.
The coach tells you the best bid or card to play.
The coach also explains WHY, in plain words.
Press “Got it!” to close the help box and keep playing.
16
Read your Hand Review
When a hand is over, a “Hand Review” box opens by itself.
It tells you what you did well and what you could try next time.
Press “Continue Playing” when you are done reading.
Press “Deal Next Hand” to play again.
🎓 Practice with a Coach
17
Pick how to practice
Press the purple “Practice” tab at the top.
Press “With Conventions” to practice special bids like Stayman or Blackwood.
Or press “Without Conventions” for plain bidding, where every bid means just what it says.
If you chose “With Conventions,” tap the one you want. Or tap “Mix of All” for a surprise each hand.
The cards are dealt so that your convention comes up.
18
Get coaching after each bid
Bid just like you do in a real game.
Right after you bid, a box tells you if it was a good bid.
If the coach would bid something else, it tells you which bid, and WHY.
The purple box on the side shows “What to watch for.”
19
Tell Me More, or Try Again
Want a longer answer? Press the purple “Tell Me More” button.
Want another try? Press “Try Again.” Your bid is taken back.
Press “Got It” to close the box and keep going.
To pick a different practice, press “Change Practice.”
Practice hands do not change your score in the “Play” game.
📚 Learning Conventions
20
Study a convention
Press the orange “Learn Conventions” tab at the top.
Tap the name of a convention, like “Gerber.”
It opens and shows when to use it, how it works, an example hand, and example bidding.
Tap the name again to close it.
21
Practice it
Under each open convention, press the purple “Practice This” button.
You will get hands made just for that convention, with a coach to help.
In a real game on the “Play” tab, press “Help Me!” when a convention fits. The coach will name it and explain it.
